Van Nuys Airport (KVNY) has a rich and storied history that stretches back more than 80 years. Located in the heart of the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles, California, the airport has played a central role in the development of the region and the aviation industry as a whole.

The airport was first established in 1928 as a small airfield called Van Nuys Metropolitan Airport. It was initially used as a training facility for military pilots during World War II, and it later became a popular location for movie and television productions.

In the 1950s, the airport underwent a major expansion, adding new hangars and facilities to accommodate the growing demand for air travel. It became a hub for private and charter flights, and it continued to be a popular destination for movie and television productions.
