This course equips you with the knowledge and skills to quickly and effectively mitigate LOC due to aerodynamic upsets or loss of situational awareness. Whether you're a budding Private Pilot or an experienced aviator, this course is tailored for your skill level and operational context to ultimately equip you with the discipline to survive when the unexpected happens.

Tailwheel & High Performance Training

It's time to tame the tailwheel!

The tailwheel aircraft design provides an incredibly rewarding aviation experience that harkens back to the golden-age of flight. However, the inherently less-stable setup of a tailwheel airplane makes them more of a handful to taxi, take-off, and land. This is why the FAA requires a specialized endorsement to take the controls of one.

Here is where Clipper Aviation can help. By enrolling in our tailwheel education course, students learn the exact skills and knowledge necessary to temper any tailwheel airplane. In total, students can expect to spend at least 10 hours at the controls following ground instruction designed to explain the nuances tailwheel aerodynamics.

This training, provided in our Xtreme Decathlon, also gives users a chance to earn high-performance endorsement. Rated at 210 horsepower, the Decathlon has an incredible power-to-weight ratio making it an effective platform to showcase how to best manage the behaviors of airplanes with even more horsepower.
