Our checkout procedures are straightforward and standardized for each aircraft in our fleet.

The Cessna 172, Piper Archer, and Diamond DA42 Twinstar require a ground and flight assessment with one of our instructors to earn your rental qualification.  In addition to the standardized checkout, we require proof of a current Flight Review, a valid medical, and a government-issued photo ID that must be shown at the time of rental and kept on file.

Note that Cirrus aircraft have a slightly different process explained below.

Please note that a one-time high-density altitude airport checkout is required for flights to airports above 5,000 ft in elevation in addition to flights to Catalina Island Airport (KAVX).

FOR CIRRUS SR2X RENTALS

Clipper Aviation is proud to offer the largest and most modern fleet of G6 SR2X airplanes in Los Angeles. So in addition to a checkout flight, you will need to show proof of completion from a Cirrus Transition Training course.

If you have not completed a Cirrus Transition Training course, or require training to update yourself on a G6 platform or specific variant of the G6, we can provide that education. Our CSIP (Cirrus Standardized Instructor Pilot) can provide you with the expert training and guidance you will need to safely fly and rent our Cirrus airplanes.

ADDITIONAL POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

• 3 Hobbs Hour minimum charge for each 24 hour rental period
• WET rentals include fuel whereas DRY rentals do not
• Fuel is charged at market rates and rates are updated regularly
• Membership is month to month and can be cancelled at any time
• Credit Card transactions limited to $5,000
• Cancellations inside 24 hours charged at 50% of reservation block
